In July 2024 I joined a group of students who are interested in the future of the planet and finding new ways to promote the ideas of sustainability, permaculture, and green technology. I am hoping to use this site to promote the work I did there and the wider implications of the course in terms of my interests and the interests of the online community as a whole.
Footsteps in the Forest.
Web design can be seen as a process that promotes creativity and offers a glimpse of a greener lifestyle, one that makes use of new technology and aims to be carbon neutral and accessible to everyone. It's not the case yet of course as there are lots of downstream effects on the environment and high levels of consumption, in the industry, still my work seeks to challenge the status quo and accepts that we may need to include more people especially those in the developing world in the industry.
The Global Village is one phenomenon that can be a useful tool in the fight against climate change and help us realise our goals towards a cleaner, greener environment and less oil dependant global economy. In this section I will be exploring alternatives to the high carbon economy and offering insights into the course on Permaculture and reflections as well as imagery too, in an attempt to reconcile disparate elements in the wider online community. I see this as the start of a conversation about the environment our place within it and the advantages and disadvantages offered by the advent of web design more broadly.
Web design for a greener future.
