It's been quite some year already and we're only in May! I have been visiting as many gardens and places of horticultural interest as I can. Taking my om 40 with me as I go and getting some interesting results, shooting on expired film. I have work to do at home at the moment including planting up containers! Which I have just learned about at college. On the doorstep. It's amazing what you can find out these days and I'll put some more photos up on my facebook page. I'm at https://www.facebook.com/oscar.reid3 if you need to look me up. I had an interesting trip to the Newt, a tricky assignment yo could say. Then I travelled north to Buildwas abbey where I got some great holiday snaps. I am looking forward to see what this summer may bring, no decision yet on where to go, I have few potential locations I would like to visit, in France and Germany.
I may try and do some more design work, to sketch out some ideas, as well. I think there are some prints I can put up and I can certainly do a bit more print making I have some more work to show you from the print room, which we are currently upgrading at the moment so many ideas. The allotment project is good, it's all part of the thinking global and acting local idea, and it keeps me busy! I have a lot of good plants growing this year and am learning quickly. The main points I've learned so far about planting:
Plant aftercare is important.
Time management, and making plans.
Reporting to others key findings.
Renewables, and their value. Increasing the soil structure throughout the year.
Growing from seed is a good way to save money.
Keeping the greenhouse running harder than it looks. Is big project in itself. Also good to get started as soon as possible and keep a close eye on things.
Plan well ahead and discuss ideas.
